Studying medicine in Georgia — a guide for students from Kuwait
Kuwaiti applicants receive a full document review in Arabic before anything is submitted to the university. Everything below is written for applicants from Kuwait: entry requirements, documents, costs, travel and what happens after graduation.
Why students from the region choose BAU Batumi
Applicants from Kuwait apply on the strength of their secondary school results — there is no national seat lottery and no Georgian-language requirement. The MD programme runs for six years entirely in English, the DMD for five, and both are accredited by the World Federation for Medical Education and listed by WHO.
Cohorts are deliberately small, Arabic-speaking students are supported by Arabic-speaking staff and senior students, and halal food, prayer space and family-friendly housing are all a short walk from campus in Batumi.

Visa, travel and arrival
Once an offer is accepted the university issues an official invitation letter used for the Georgian D3 study visa. Citizens of most MENA countries, including Kuwait, may enter Georgia visa-free for up to one year and regularise their residence permit in Batumi. One-stop connections Kuwait – Tbilisi via Istanbul or Doha.
Our team arranges airport pick-up in Batumi or Tbilisi, first-week housing, a local SIM card, bank account and residence registration so no family has to manage arrival alone.
After graduation
Graduates receive a Georgian state-recognised degree from a WFME-accredited programme, which is the qualification most licensing authorities in the region require before examination. Students returning to Kuwait normally proceed through Kuwait Ministry of Health licensing examination; those aiming at the United States prepare for USMLE Step 1 through our elective preparation track, and those aiming at the UK for the PLAB pathway.
Licensing rules change, so we confirm the current requirements with you in writing before you apply rather than making promises about registration outcomes.
